Evolution of consciousness through spinal reorganization

A few years ago we took our little ones to an arcade, one of those really noisy, flashy, overstimulating ones (is there any other kind?!?) What I noticed was that after years of actively practicing the art of slowing down and being in tune in with my body, I was experiencing complete overload. I felt like I couldn’t breath, I became more anxious, at one point I think that I had to step out and get some fresh air.
This may seem like an overreaction, however as I have become more in tune with my body, I have become acutely aware of and sensitive to how our modern culture is overstimulating. From TV ads, radio commercials, flashing roadway signs, email pop-ups to accounts all over social media vying for our attention, we are overloaded with stimuli. What became apparent that day is that most people in today’s world are not consciously aware of how much noise we are exposed to. It is no wonder that people are looking for more regulation in their body and in their life.
‘Regulating the Nervous System’ is having a moment.
There are countless reels on social media, online courses and books with ‘how to’s’ on this subject. DD Palmer, the founder of Chiropractic began talking about regulating the Nervous System back in the 1880s and it has been the founding principle and philosophy of Chiropractic ever since. No doubt, our profession has been waiting for this moment.
So how does regulating the nervous system and more specifically developing, experiencing and refining a spinal wave lead to an upgrade of greater awareness and consciousness?
For that, we turn to DD Palmer again, he noted that ‘nerve vibration is associated with consciousness. Without it there would be no sensational intelligence, no activity which we recognize life.’
Evolution of the Network Wave
In the late 1980s, Donny Epstein, the developer of Network Chiropractic which has since evolved to Network Spinal, began exploring how chiropractic care could transcend the restorative care model of ‘fix and repeat' to one of Reorganizational Healing; enhancing not only function, emotion, thoughts and behavior, but one of expanding consciousness. These are what he describes as the ‘Five Gifts of the Spine’. View our talk about these Gifts here. When we reference the spine we are describing the bones, ligaments, muscles, discs and the neural control system (spinal cord).
The evolution of these gifts transpire as one experiences the Network Wave. The Network Wave is both dynamic and is one of acoustic quality; it allows for the central nervous system to coherently self organize and transcend from optimal function to an upgraded consciousness. This wave has been studied as a mathematical model by researchers at the University of California, Irvine. It has been postulated that each individual’s expression of the Network Wave is more unique than a fingerprint as each individual’s expression of function, emotion, sense of self, behavior and consciousness are equally unique.
